High-quality, handmade ceramic container, ideal for storing bread and pastries. The sturdy oak lid is impregnated with organic oil and doubles as a breadboard on the inside. The individual pieces are largely handcrafted in established small workshops in Austria. High-quality ceramic production and fine woodworking have been highly valued in this country for generations.

Collection of bread pots

Production
The clay mass, consisting exclusively of natural materials, is placed by hand into molds specially designed by Stillsegler, carefully dried and later fired for the first time at 960 °C.
Then, special glazes are applied that are completely food-safe. This is followed by a second firing at 1040 °C.

A special feature
This relatively low temperature allows a typical glaze pattern to form, known as craquelure. This refers to a network of very fine "cracks" in the glaze. The quality of the ceramic remains unaffected and is not damaged. On the contrary, this glaze pattern creates a "microclimate" inside the pot because it allows for minimal temperature and humidity regulation. This effect has a very positive impact on the stored bread!

Danger! Due to supply bottlenecks in our manufacturing facility, some models may experience temporary delivery delays of several weeks. We appreciate your understanding!

Care
• Occasionally wipe the bread bin and lid/cutting board with a slightly damp cloth (preferably soaked in vinegar water).
• Do not clean the lid in the dishwasher and do not leave it in water. The wood will warp!
• Clean the lid from time to time (when the wood has dried out) with the Stillsegler wood care butter Rub in and let it soak in. Buff with a dry cloth.
• Do not drop the lid into the pot, the glaze may crack.
