The Panama cushion originates from an important Stillsegler project that promotes the employment of small craft businesses around the headquarters in Upper Austria.
The cover, made of "Panama" loden, consists of a special weave of natural merino wool and is produced in a Bavarian family business. The high-quality natural material is then carefully sewn in selected colors in a one-woman operation in Traunkirchen. The inner cushions are filled with goose and duck feathers in Oeko-Tex Standard from a certified company in Germany.

Panama Collection
Genuine loden cloth is a purely natural product and has many special properties.
Loden is a material with a centuries-old proven track record and was the traditional, durable clothing fabric of the rural population of Europe. Loden is made from pure wool fabric, which is then fulled. This process strengthens the fabric, causing it to felt on the surface and giving it its unique characteristics.
breathable
Virgin wool absorbs water vapor from the body and releases it to the fabric surface. This property is particularly important for outerwear used in sports such as skiing or hiking, etc.
antibacterial
Wool has antibacterial properties due to its protein base. The keratin it contains kills bacteria.
windproof
Since the loden is processed without chemical additives, its wind-breaking properties are retained up to wind force 10.
temperature-balancing
Due to the fabric structure of loden, a regular and controlled temperature exchange takes place, creating a microclimate zone on the body. Loden prevents the cold from penetrating, retains body heat, and thus guarantees exceptional wearing comfort.
water-repellent
The elaborate processing of the virgin wool, the fulling process, makes the loden not only more durable and warmer, but also extremely water-repellent.
flame-retardant (B2, DIN 4102-1)
Wool is a protein fiber and therefore acts naturally. flame retardant.
sustainable
Wool is a natural and renewable resource, obtained once or twice a year through shearing. This is done by hand, just as it was 100 years ago. Wool production consumes significantly less energy than the production of cotton or synthetic materials and requires no pesticides or crude oil. Wool and wool products can be easily disposed of after use – simply by... z.B. composted.
