Nature and its gentle curves
The unique aesthetic of the Giorgio tableware collection is primarily based on unusual materials and rare manufacturing processes. Plates and bowls are created through a combination of shaping using a plaster model and additional hand-thrown work on the potter's wheel.
The exterior has a slightly rough, matte finish, while the silky sheen of the interior provides a subtle contrast. The look and feel offer a delightful sensory experience, and the quality and sustainability are convincing in everyday use.

Production
The base material is a special mixture of stoneware and porcelain, combined with "engobe," a thin, liquid clay-mineral paste used to color and coat durable ceramic products. The colors are mixed according to the ceramicist's own recipes.
The first firing, known as bisque firing, takes place at 1100 degrees Celsius. Afterwards, only the inside is glazed, and the vessel is fired a second time, this time at 1260 degrees Celsius. This high firing temperature makes the pieces particularly suitable for everyday use. On the one hand, it makes them dishwasher-safe, and on the other hand, heat-resistant and oven-safe. However, caution should be exercised with extreme temperature shocks! The entire series is, of course, certified for food contact.

Story
Umbria and Emilia-Romagna have a rich ceramic tradition, largely characterized by low-fired decorative ceramics. Our master craftsman studied design and ceramics in Milan and specialized in this high-temperature firing technique. He is likely the only one who has mastered this particular technique and can therefore produce these exceptional works of art for Stillsegler.
Engobes have been used for practical and aesthetic reasons since the late Stone Age. In antiquity, both the Greeks and the Romans coated clay vessels with a thin layer of the finest slip. This coating gave these vessels their typical matte-glossy surfaces. Very thin-walled earthenware was usually coated with a matte engobe.
